Modesto Subbasin Groundwater Sustainability
Most of Modesto’s water comes from the Modesto Subbasin, which is a high-priority basin monitored by a groundwater sustainability agency called the Stanislaus & Tuolumne Rivers Groundwater Basin Association. A Groundwater Sustainability Plan will be implemented by January 2022 to ensure sustainability by 2042.
Turlock Subbasin Groundwater Sustainability
Modesto maintains the distribution system for a small area in Turlock. The water is supplied by the Turlock Subbasin. They will also have a Groundwater Sustainability Plan implemented by January 2022 to ensure sustainability by 2042.
