Project Summary

Purchase and installation of communication equipment for Modesto’s Automated Traffic Management System (ATMS).

Project Description

Upgrading the ATMS for the City requires mass amounts of data communication through fiber optics, traffic flow software, signal timing software, IP addressing, Ethernet switches, Ethernet ports, serial communications and video detection. It’s essential to make upgrades to bring the system to more state of the art technology to help traffic flow.  This project will install fiber optic cable down Oakdale, Briggsmore, and Standiford/Sylvan that drops into each signalized intersection.  This helps with redundancy in our network and allows the City to pursue advanced traffic management software in the future.
