Take a step back into the 19th century by visiting the McHenry Mansion and garden. Located in Modesto, California, this historic house, built in 1883, has been open to the public as a tourist destination since 1983. We offer family-friendly tours of the Mansion, which are free of charge. Additionally, you can host all sorts of gatherings in this Victorian home. From weddings to recitals, it makes the perfect place for entertaining your guests.

The McHenry Mansion is always looking for objects of local historical value or items that can illustrate local history to add to our collection.

If you wish to donate an item to the Mansion, please take a photograph of it, include any information you know about the item and email it to Laura Mesa.

Volunteer Opportunities

If you're interested in becoming a volunteer docent, you've come to the right place. At the McHenry Mansion, we offer a training program for volunteers who want to educate visitors about our historic home.
