This pavement overlay project was completed by city staff on Floyd Avenue as part of our summer pavement rehabilitation program.
The project was conducted July 9th through July 12.
Purpose
Funded by Prop 1B funds, the Floyd Avenue project (from McHenry Avenue and MacDougal Street) included the removal of the old pavement, installation of new underground traffic detection loops, re-pavement of this section of roadway as well as the installation of new pavement markings and striping.
This type of work typically extends the durability of a street surface for as much as 20 years.
