City of Modesto Program Year 2024 Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA)

The City of Modesto will be receiving Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 (July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025). A portion of CDBG and ESG funds will be used to fund Public Service programs to directly benefit low-income families and individuals within the City of Modesto.  See Notice of Funding Availability.

  • Community Development Block Grant and Emergency Solutions Grant program Application period will be open from February 14 to March 6, 2024.
  • Notice of Funding Availability for the 2024-2025 Program Year Public Services  Program  will be available on February 14, 2024.

  • February 14, 2024 - Mandatory Technical Workshop and opening of the application period  - Workshop Presentation (PDF)
    Opening of CDBG & ESG Grant Application period.  A Virtual Grant Technical Assistance Workshop will be held via Teams from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Attendance is Mandatory – No Exceptions.

  • March 6, 2024 - Application Deadline via Neighborly Software by 4:00 PM
  • March 7-20, 2024 - Application Review Period
  • March 27-28, 2024 - Grant Presentations to the Application Review Committee
    • Grant presentations to City of Modesto Grant Review Committee
    • In-person Grant Presentations with a ten minute limit. Applicants will be notified individually upon acceptance of your application.
  • April 5, 2024 – Deadline to submit appeals of Technical Review by 4:00 PM
  • April 7, 2024 – Draft Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Annual Action Plan Public Review
  • May 7, 2024 - Final Plans and funding allocations presented to City Council during the public hearing at 5:30 PM
