This form is for businesses and multi-family properties located in the City of Modesto only. Even if your postal address says Modesto, you may not be located within the city limits. Forms submitted to the wrong jurisdiction will be void and no waiver granted.

Business generates less than 20 gallons of organic material per week. If Landscaping Material is not included in 20-gallons, business must also complete Section 2. State law does not allow for Multi-Family properties to receive a 20-gallon or less waiver. (Request will be verified by City staff)
Business or multi-family property does not have adequate space for the smallest organic material container. (Request will be verified by City staff)
Business or multi-family property does not generate four or more cubic yard of solid waste per week therefor they are not required to have a recycling container. (Request will be verified by City staff)
An Alternative Service Verification is required if you do not divert your organic material through services provided by Gilton or Bertolotti, and instead utilize one or more alternative organic material or recycling services. If the information below applies to you, please go back and select the Submitting Alternative Service Verification Only option.
Your business or multi-family property contracts with a landscaper, who collects and recycles your green waste/landscape trimmings off-site to a facility that recycles the green waste. Upload the contact for City staff to review.
You take your solid waste materials to a local facility where organics and recycling is properly separated. Upload the Alternative Service Supporting Documents and retain on-site for verification during inspection: Recent transactions receipts showing organic and/ or recycling material being sorted properly.
Your business hauls its organic and recycling materials back to a central or corporate location to be collected for recycling. Upload a contract or an agreement between the generator and the central or corporate location.
Solid waste services can be shared with another adjacent (next door) business/multi-family. Contact the City to obtain the sharing service contract form.
All organic material that is generated on-site is composted on-site. Verification will be obtained during inspection. Contact the City to receive more information
All organic material that is generated on-site is donated or sold to alternative waste hauler. This requires a declaration stating the material is being donated or sold to (company) and evidence of payment to the generator or donation receipts.
