The Junior Giants program is a FREE eight-week, non-competitive coed baseball and softball program for youth entering grades K - 8. More than 24,000 youth across California, Nevada and Oregon participate annually. The program offers equipment, uniforms, program incentives and coach training. The Junior Giants wants to help you lead, succeed and have fun this summer. The program is built on the fundamentals of baseball, as well as teaching players leadership, teamwork, confidence and integrity. In Modesto, our league serves about 950 youth per year.
Registration typically opens at the beginning of April, however, notifications of the specific date will be posted on the City of Modesto’s website, Facebook and other social media. Please like our City of Modesto Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods page for the most up to date information. Registration will take place online only at www.gojrgiants.org. Registration is first come, first serve and space is limited.
The league is broken into three different divisions: T-ball (ages 5-6 years old), Minors (ages 7 - 9 years old), and Majors (ages 10 - 13 years old).
This free non-competitive league is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The players who register after their division has been filled, will be placed on a Wait List. If a player who was able to register cannot participate for any reason, the next eligible player will be chosen from the wait list in the order they were registered. Players will be notified by the email on file if they are removed from the wait list and placed on a team. Players on the wait list do not need to attend the First Pitch Meeting.
Games are played at Enslen Park or Pike Park depending upon their age division. Game schedules will be emailed out at least a week before league begins. Practice times and locations are chosen by the coaches for your teams. All games and practice take place one day per week, in the evening after 5 pm.
